All Oxford Houses of Virginia Listed as Certified Recovery Residences
All Oxford Houses in Virginia through close work between our Outreach workers and the individual Houses have been listed as Certified Revocery Residences by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).
A recovery residence is a housing facility that provides alcohol-free and illicit-drug-free housing to individuals with substance abuse disorders and individuals with co-occurring mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders that does not include clinical treatment services.

Support for Recovery Without Relapse
Oxford House has as its primary goal the provision of housing and rehabilitative support for the alcoholic and drug addict who wants to stop drinking or using drugs and stay stopped.
In its simplest form, an Oxford House describes a self-run, self-supported recovery houses.
